Description
By far our most ambitious project to date, Strip Search is the world’s first web cartoonist reality show. From initial planning and design to filming and directing to editing and DVD authoring, Bionic Trousers handled every stage of the production. In the end, we shot over 1500 hours of video and produced 31 25-30 minute episodes, releasing them at a constant schedule of 2 per week over more than 3 months.
The show created an extremely invested fan base who discussed and dissected every new episode not only on the Strip Search website itself, but also on youtube and webcomic forums around the world. Participation in the show also raised the profile of the contestants such that many of them were able to move to creating art full time, either through massively successful Kickstarter projects or just through increased fan-base.
